I am looking for a way to multiplex several communications protocols to an output of only 2 pins to provide more configuration options.

I have a 4 way connector that is split for 2 sensors and 2 communications pins but I would like to offer I2C, UART, and CAN communications.

As I have limited output connector pins I need a way of providing this functionality. I have created a quick circuit in Altium that will do this for UART & I2C. The firmware uses the PPS to configure the ports as either UART or I2C of course but the pull up resistors need to be disabled when using UART.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

Why don´t you use a two analog 1:4 MUX?

Btw: I doubt your pullup switch is working correctly.
