Hearing aid electronics for aging father

What you are proposing is jamming a speaker in the old gent's ear. That is NOT a hearing aid. A hearing aid is a medical device which can have a significant amount of signal processing in it.

Maybe you can also do a knee replacement on your dad using an old door hinge.

Thanks, do hearing aids use integrated class d amplifiers, or do they use class B?...or even class A?

Do you know of any off the shelf integrated hearing aid solutions, which can fit into the ear?

Hearing aids are not amplifiers. They are medical devices and they perform a lot of sound filtering to improve clarity, they don't amplify sound that much and have limits on how much sound pressure is sent into your ear canal.

What you seem to be proposing is the same as stuffing in-ear headphones into your dad's ears and turning up the volume to make sure they damage their hearing further and go completely deaf.

Here just in case you decide to build and use your homemade amplifier hearing "aid" on your dad...
