Hi,

I have disassembled an old furnace of mine to get some parts back for a project. I scavenged a 8LED display. When I tested the pins, it did something odd. The tested leds kept blinking in and out (As if they had a really slow PWM on them). I've never seen this before. Any explanations/ideas on what it could be?

I ran my test :

12VDC, limited at 20mA.

At 5VDC it was working, but the light was dim and the power supply was giving 12VDC to the transistor.

Attached is a picture with the piece. I did my research online with no luck.

Thank you,

Jeremy

Hi,

"limited at 20mA"
--> I doubt that 20mA is enough...even the LEDisplay may need a lot more.
