Hellos guys,

I am wondering what's up with the output of this part when the enable = L. Is it in High Impedance? The datasheet does not say anything respecting to that...

Greetings

Re: Question about analog Mux MPC506A

Hi,

The datasheet is very clear in this.
The Truth tabele says: when EN = LOW, then NONE channel is ON. It´s the same as EVERY channel is OFF.

The electrical specifications show
* ON state as R_ON - ON resistance.
* OFF state as OFF input/output leakage current.

Therefore, should it be possible to connect two outputs of two different mux to the same wire? Or would I have some problem with the accuracy becauseto the leakage current?

Greetings!

Hi,

You may connect different MUX outputs.
For sure you have to take care obout some situations:
* what happens when two or more MUX are enabled at the same time, maybe by accident.
* what happens when none MUX is enabled and the signal is foating.
* combined capacitance
* combined leakage current

Wheter leakage current is a problem or not depends on your reqirements. Impossible to give a general answer.
