Hi! I have a little problem on choosing the right footprint for my SMD Components, IC to be specific. Like this one for example.. SOG.050/8/WG.244/L.175. I understand that 8 is the number of pins and the rest of the numbers I am not so familiar with. The L refers to the IC's Length, right? How about WG? what does it mean? and the SOG.05? What does these also means?

Go to the manufacturer's website and download the datasheet for this part. In the datasheet, all the numbers will be explained.
