We have a project for variable speed drive for single phase AC motor control (capacitor start & run motor) for general purpose / household appliance. Here we are looking for dedicated PWM controller for our project.

Generally while designing SMPS we use PWM IC for generating PWM signals. Similarly while designing single phase AC drive (for 1 HP motor) which controller IC can be used?

The SMPS controller provides only PWM but for our project we need sinusoidal PWM (sine wave necessary for AC motor control).

I got ML4423 chip but now it is obsolete. Datasheet attached.

Can anybody please suggest me such controller IC for the project?

We are preferring dedicated chip instead of micro-controller.

Eg8010 is a pure sine wave generator IC.

According to its datasheet it has a variable voltage variable frequency mode. Eg8010 is used on egs002 board that is sold for example on ebay. Example on Ebay,

Egs002 seems to be made for fixed frequency use but perhaps it is possible to modify it. Operation mode is set with pins that are described on the eg8010 datasheet.

Thank you. EG8010 is suitable for my project. But, it should be readily available...
