I just knlow they have the same core.
But what 's the differnence?
Why Hspice is more popular?

Thanks!

Re: What's the detail difference between 'Hspice' and 'Pspic

HSpice uses much more complex algorithms to solve the circuits..It is mainly used for transistor level design while PSpice is commonly used for board level design..

Hspice is the reference for IC analog design. It has much more devices models than Pspice. Also its convergency algorithms are superior. Pspice is more for discrete design.

HSpice is more popular in industry because of its more transistor models support. Some devices are not supported in pspice. I don't think they (hspice and pspice) have the same core. In algorithm convergency, hspice still have some problem. Nassda Hsim is better in this aspect. I simulated some large digital circuit in hspice and hsim in transistor level. hspice cann't finish while hsim can when the transistor number exceeds a certain quantity.

HSPICE also has a RF expansion with which you can simulate RF circuits,

When the drain/source areas and perimeters are mentioned in HSPICE, it will calculate the parasitic capacitances and takes them into account for the analysis and simulation of the results.

ckt.designer mentioned "When the drain/source areas and perimeters are mentioned in HSPICE, it will calculate the parasitic capacitances and takes them into account for the analysis and simulation of the results."

In Pspice you also can set up the parameters AS,AD, PS and PD for the drain/source diffusion areas and perimenters. HSpice has more parasitic capacitances than Pspice accounted

Hspice is more accuracy, is applied to IC design.
