I want to use a VCO (Ros 2650+ ((mini circuit IC))) for a FMCW Radar. Actually I want to set a sweep time for a voltage sawtooth ramp that is the input of vco to get FM signal in out.
My sweep time is 10us and voltage range is from 6 to 9 volt to get a 150 MHz. Ros 2650+ can work linearity in 500 MHz range and i use it to work linear but i don't know my sweep time is OK to settle 150 MHz in 10us or not.I heared the modulation bandwidth of vco determine it but I don't know how
(Ros 2650+ has 28 MHz modulation bandwidth). can anyone help me?

28MHz modulation BW implies better than 30nS time
constant. So I think your focus should be on the
driving network (upstream buffer / amp for the sawtooth
ramp? Is the "down stroke" required to track, and is
it likely to be faster than 30nS?). Also VCOs tend to
want good Vtune filtering for phase noise optimization,
this is probably your direct trade-off (PN vs agility).
You have to express your system requirements in both
of these areas to do a proper trade analysis.
