I have LPC2148 development board i am trying to program it. it has rs232 interface already for uart0,
but my laptop does not have serial port so i decided to use the usb to serial converter FT232RL also installed driver for it. my doubt is can use the usb to serial directly when uart0 is connected to max232 interface already

thanks in advance.

Regards,
Kiran

If there are max232, it inverts voltage levels and makes them +/- 12V which is unacceptable to directly use. Are you sure that there are max232 uses? Otherwise another max232 have to be used on the host side.
