The optimal of course, is to have a single battery powering everything.

That battery voltage should be equal to the motor's requirements.
Why? Because the motors draw LOTS AND LOTS of power during acceleration, and even the most efficient PSU will waste significant amounts of power.

Then, use a MUCH SMALLER PSU to power the electronics.

In My case the important is to keep constant voltage across the line sensor

By electronics I mean the sensors plus any ancillary circuits that require tight voltage regulation.

The PSU may be buck, boost or Sepic depending whether the output is lower, higher than the battery voltage.

Have you work with LTC 3112 which can be used as PSU so I need to use single micro switch to power on and off using LTC3112 and I sow LTC3112 has a pin called "RUN". Can I able to use this pin power on and off using micro switch

Please advice

reading the datasheet helps..

it says:
RUN (Pin 6/Pin 7): Shutdown Control Input. Operation
will be disabled when the voltage is forced below 0.75V
(typical) and less than 1µA of quiescent current will be
consumed.


What additional information do you need?

Yes assumed we connected micro switch to this RUN pin with pull up resistor ( Tied to 5v) and other side to ground

when we pressed the switch the voltage at RUN pint less than 0.75v and then it will shutdown but when we released the switch it will go to 5v and power ON again

LTC3112 Vboost regulator experience

Dear All
Have a nice day

I am going to use LTC3112 Regulator IC as 9 v to 12v Vboost
I need to On and OFF the regulator using micro switch. as per the data sheet the LTC3112 have a pin called RUN

Please advice me if I can use this IC with my requirement

Is there any who have experience working with this IC

Grounding the 'run' pin will turn the output off.

The 220 ohm resistor seems useless. At worst case it doesn't allow to switch the converter off (if RUN threshold is in the lower range).

The permanent pull-up draws 2 mA battery current in off state.

Still I don't know that LTC 3112 power on and off using RUN as per the above circuit once I removed the 220 resistor and connect it to ground

I am expecting when switch pressed once the power ON and when switch pressed again the power off...... Is this method working with LTC3112

O.K., you are asking for a toggle switch function. That's not achieved by this or any similar voltage regulator I'm aware of. Last time I implemented similar logic in a device I used a D-flip-flop.

Hi,

at least I understand the problem....

Use a toggle switch instead of a pushbutton, then the problem is solved mechanically instead of electrically.
Nobody will recognize the difference.
