i sometimes see a letter after the IPC standards documents name... for example
IPC-2221A - Generic Standard on Printed Board Design
IPC-2221B - Generic Standard on Printed Board Design

and so on, what does that refer to? and whats the difference between A and B???

Hi,

as far as I know this is a kind of revision index:

IPC2221 = initial version
IPC2221A = next version (following to IPC2221)
IPC2221B = next version (following to IPC2221A)
and so on.

There usually is a remark on the fist page: "Supersedes"
