Dear all,

I am a beginner.
How to perform a load/source pull for differential PA? Do I need to use balun/transformer?

Or a single ended configuration is sufficient to extract the optimum impedance then connect it in differential manner to get 3dB extra power?

Please share.

Thanks

No, you should use Balun.Differential Optimum Load will absolutely different than single ended.
But later on, de-embedding of the Balun from Optimum Load Impedance will be quite hard because of phase relationships.

I am using Cadence spectre. Do you think I can use ideal balun?

Thanks

In simulation, you won't need a balun, just a differentially connected load.

If you dont mind, can you show some visual of that.
