supply for fpga board

dear sir
shall i use desktop pc usb output power for fpga 3s250e power supply. usb output is 5v and spartan kit power requirement is 5v. data transfer is different. im asking about power to the board.

Hi,

It depends on the requirements.
If I remember right...USB voltage is specified to be 4.5V ... 5.5V. Max 0.5A.
I'vd seen: less than 4.5V (loaded) .... 5.2V


PC supply: maybe it needs a "minimum load" to work properly.
Don't know about soecification.

Also read specification of FPGA board.
