Just a quick question: in the official documentation of that board ( Tiva C Series TM4C123G LaunchPad Evaluation Board ) it requires IDE which runs only under Windows. Am I locked to that OS, or can the chip be programmed with another IDE, which runs under Linux? I assume most processors can be programmed by multiple compilers and respectively IDEs.
I have no experience with these boards and don't know where to look to find out.

Probably this is what you are looking for, some non-windows tool chain.........

Thank you. But...

I found out my user's manual has a link to the proper IDE, also linux compatible. I feel slow. :-( It has some issue with the serial ports option greyed out, but that's whole another isse.

Sorry...I had only used the IAR compiler in Windows!
