Hi,
I have problem in understanding VSS-Monitoring ethernet trailer in Wireshark.

I am analysing UDP data sent from FPGA to PC and 2 byte VSS-Monitoring ethernet trailer appears at the end of every UDP packet and It contains last 2 bytes of the packet sent from FPGA.

But When I choose the packet size not multiple of 4 byte, it doesn't appear in Wireshark but then I loose 2 byte data and wireshark also says bad udp length.

I have 32 bit (4 byte) input to FPGA.

How to solve this problem?

Is VSS-Monitoring ethernet trailer not part of UDP Data from theory point of view?

VSS-Monitoring isn't part of UDP (also RFC-768)

From what I could determine there is a company called VSS Monitoring that seems to produce equipment that injects extra monitoring and time stamping onto Ethernet packets. As I've only worked with closed networks I've never run across this monitoring trailer appendage being added to packets.
