Brushless motor control with beaglebone

Hi everyone,
I will drive a brusless motor with using Beaglebone PWM Driver. Actually, I don't have experience on it before. Esc is used to control BLDC motors but i will not use it. Can you share with me any guide on BLDC control without using ESC? In addition, I am searching brushless motor driver ic to drive motor. Which one do you suggest?
