I want to display image on monitor through vga port. but spartan 3E starter fpga kit has only 3 pins for colors. so how to display image using vga.
and which type of image format is compatible with vga of spartan 3 E starter kit?

I mean there are 5 pins for vga, hsync, vsync, red, green, blue. but 8 bit image has 3 bits for red,3 bits for green and 2 bits for blue. so how to assign this to display image.
