Dear Friends ,

I want to make 3 phase v,a,f meter with ct 5amp secondary winding rating .
Has anyone tried this kind of design .I need true rms meter .I will prefer microchip but any other mcu is also not an issue ...I have seen some meters using texas or renesas 16 bit mcu .Can we make it on 8 bit mcu .
Please share the design ideas .

Thanks and regards
Jitender.

Has any one made 3 phase voltmeter ,ampere meter and frequency meter in renesas or texas instruments mcu . I have seen 3phase VAF METER of good companies in 16 bit mcu ....cant we make it in 8 bit .whats the difference . Cant we make true rms meters in 8 bit pic mcus ......Please share any experience in designing 3 phase wattmeter , or 3 phase vaf meter

ADC resolution affect ur accuracy. If u require good accuracy than use more bit but at same time ur require good controller having high speed ADC with simultaneous sampling, good floating point data support.
Plan ur specification than make paper work to select controller
