BALUN and Bifiller coil

I need to know what a bifiller coil is...I came across it in a BALUN (Balance to unbalance coil)...It's construction...

What are it's advantages over an Inductor type coil ?

Please help me out....
Thanks in advance...

Re: BALUN and Bifiller coil

Bifillar coil winding method is such kind of winding where two wires are wind together, simultaneously. Coil made this way has better symetry than if two coils are wound separately, one on top of another. Allso the coupling factor between two parts of coil is greater.
