Has anybody worked on communicating protocols with car ECUs ?
Have you seen any PIC based project performing this function ?

Check out https://www.scantool.net/ they sell a Pic chip that can do OBD VPW and PWM for Ford & GM cars.

The chip they sell was also featured in a Elektor article.
