Advantage Group a proud to working with our North Yorkshire based client in their search for a Senior Design & Development Manager.
This is the opportunity to join an highly reputable company, our client is part of a Group however run independently. Operating the full 360 – Design, Manufacture, Finish and out to market.
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Managing Director and as part of Senior Management Team you will be fully responsible for all engineering and design activities for the business.
You will be responsible for Product Design, New Product Development and New Product Introduction. In addition you will be fundamental in business retention, strategic growth and profitability through active customer technical support and service, and through product development and improvement.
As Design & Development Manager you will oversee a team of talented technical and design engineers. Driving your team you define roles and responsibilities, coaching and mentoring, assisting in PDPs and Chartership programs.
Your key responsibilities will also include:
Develop and qualify products to satisfy the requirements of industry guidelines, standards and customer specifications.
Identify materials, processes and technologies that can improve the quality, reliability and performance of existing and future products.
Advantage Group are looking for:
Educated to degree level Electronics or Physics ideally having achieved CEng or CPhys status.
Man management and project management experience, with an ability to represent company at a senior level.
Microwave design experience (waveguide design would be an advantage.) An understanding of Antennas, Couplers, Filters, Comparators and Power Dividers would be highly beneficial.
A proven track record working with the Aerospace and Defence sectors.
Must be competent in report writing.
Must be comfortable communicating with customers, suppliers and colleagues at any level.
Self motivated with an ability to drive through results.
Friendly, persuasive and assertive, able to achieve results through a logical and systematic approach.
A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance.
Salary and Package
Excellent Salary £40k - £60k dependent on candidate.
