Koreans to set up $1.6 bn chip plant in INDIA

Korea-based Intellect Inc, a semiconductor/chip
fabrication company, has decided to set up a plant
in Hyderabad with an estimated investment of around
$1.6 billion in two phases. This could be the
largest-ever investment proposal by any company in
the Indian hardware sector yet.....

indian recruitment adverts semiconductor

Friends,

Forget jobs in that industry till january 2008.
last month they laid foundation for the construction of that company.
so I feel that people in semiconductor inductry can understand how much time it will take to construct a new fab.

ISMC

Well koreans I think are much faster than us indians.They setup hyundai motor in 3months and were in production.I guess ISMC should be up soon.Demand and the capability is a question,because it seems to be a 200mm facility.I dont know what technology are they going to use 0.25um or below would raise a big demand and would instantly be a hit.I heard there are more to follow if this is a success.

companies in wafer processing india

Dear sir,
I am a senior research student in Dept. of Met. Engg. & Materials Science, IIT-Bombay working in the area of thin films and plasma processing of electronic materials. I dont know what technology are they going to use 0.1um or below would raise a big demand and would instantly be a hit.I heard there are more to follow if this is a success.
So I am looking for job at Tencor.

from what i have heard this fab won't start production till the end of next year.Still the fab is in the construction phase.

I dont think that there will be a wafer fab in hyderabad. AMD might have something in the future in Chennai or in Karnataka.
It might be 2 -3 yrs before we see jobs for semiconductor processing in india.
