Hi ,guys ,what's the frequently used HDL code edit soft for you in Win system or Linux system? Would you give me some advice about this?As i know, there are Editplus ,ultraedit ,vi, emacs(with verilog-mode/vhdl-mode) and etc.,and ,what's the advantage of them and what's the experience of yours?Thx.

Just use one you're conforable with.

Column edit mode is very useful with HDLs

Notepad++ and Vim are both very good. Vim is especially efficient if you get used to its shortcuts and Insert mode stuff, this way you never lose time reaching for the mouse for anything. However, I agree that you should use the one you're comfortable with.
