What is the difference between PLA and PAL

What is the basic difference in working and construction of PLA and PAL ?
 

- PAL is a registered trademark for an outdated bipolar fuse programmable logic family.
- PLA is an unspecific name used for low complexity programmable devices as well as pogrammable logic building blocks.
