Dear All

How are are you peoples

I working on 8051 based project i require
1- the AC volt coding based ADC 0808 based ICs,
2 Threshold based switching using AC volt meter reading i.e. if voltages is between
160 VAC and 260 VAC the Port 3.0 bit high
if <169Vac and >260Volt Ac than Port 3.0 bit Low.

Thank you in advance

ihsan ullah khan

You need to design the high voltage interface for the ADC0808. It is recommended that you galvanically isolate the A2D and micro processor from the high input voltage.
You require the following functions:
Read the A2D
Covert the A2D measurements to real-world parameters
Calculate the RMS value
Perform the voltage window check
Control the output

thank you for explaining this

maybe openenergymonitor.org/emon/node/57 give you basic knowledge on how measure mains with non intrusive technique
