The synopsys tools install can be classified as following:
befor 0403 and 0406 version:
untar *common.tar;
untar *OS.tarOS refer to sparcOS5, sparc64, HPUX or linux)
run install.now
some other products such as VCS,
untar the tar file to the location you want
0403 and 0406 version:
download the install1.0 from synopsys ftp site.
choose a location to untar your tar file.
run the install.now or setup.sh in installer1.0
