How does this cascoded current source work

Dear all,

Below is what is called a cascoded current source, if some one knows how does it work plz explain.

In simple cascode current mirrors, the minimum voltage is 2vod+vth but with this nice idea, the minimum voltage of cascode current mirror is 2vod.

In the left part of the circuit, Resistor is used to self bias the first current mirror. These are the main things. If you want to know more, just see good analog text-books.
