switch orcad

Hi to all!
I want ot model the behaviour of a transistor as an electronic swich. Hence I don't know the type of the transistor, yet so I want ot model it's behaviour as a swich by some element which has two states ON and OFF!!!

Is there such element in PSPice libraries or not?

10x in advance

orcad switch

Hi,

You can use voltage controlled switch (Sbreak) or current controlled switch (Wbreak). This components are also available in the lite version of pspice, pspice student.

pspice switch model

10x for the answer papyaki! :)

Can you or someone else tell me how to control this swich?
I read the PSpice user giude and saw about this swich, but did'n figure out how to controll it. The control voltages are set to Voff=0.0 Von=1.0.
The swich is connected with VPULSE source whis values are: V1=0V, V2=5V. Unfortunateluy the swich didn't toggle :(
Here is the configuration

Is this configuration correct?

10x for the answers

switch in orcad

Hi,

I have simulated the schematic here after with your Vpulse parameters.

It gives the probe following curves with Vin = Vpulse and Vout = switch output.

Did you use a power supply and a resistor in serie with the switch output ?

The switch is a resistor with two possible values : Ron = 1 ohm and Roff = 1E9 ohms

sbreak orcad

This configuration works just fine!
10x again papyaki!
This swich is very suitable to model the behaviour of a MOSFET transistor!
I wanted to see if the swich is working and to concentrate on the circuit.
Now I am sure it is!

orcad vpulse

Still usefull 4us students, thanks for the original solver.

switch library orcad

In orcad Pspice, there are websites that have modeled the components and from which you can freely download what ever you want. Search the web
