I have created a middle size schematic. The DRC check has no errors. But Capture hangs there forever in the "netlisting the design" step with no error logs.

Try one of the following -
1) Either get the 16.3 ISR release

2) alternatively you can check in your design if you have any long designators and shorten them

Thank you for the reply! What do you mean by "designator"? The part value, the net alias, or the off-page connector names? Or all of them?

You need to check the designator value on parts in property editor.

When "Capture Hangs on Physical Netlist" it usually mean that the process spawned by it "pstswp.exe" has aborted or is hanging.

You can take a design that works for you. Netlist it out. In session log you will see the command usage of pstswp.exe.

Execute the same from command line for the design where netlist does not work - you are likely to see the problem.

What version of software are you using?

designator means reference R1,C25 ,..etc

it seems issue is with your project file

copy the content of all sheets to some other/new project. Now try DRC and netlisting.

check with the version Orcad Family Release 9.2
it works well iam using it.
hope u will get no error
