Hi,

This is my first post here and I hope I explain this correctly.

I am seeking to make a solenoid valve switch on and then off (for oil) after a given interval. It is AC powered, it will be activated by a light sensing circuit. I have been advised to look at relay circuits and driver circuits.

Any clues as to what I should be looking at?

Thanks in advance.

Solenoid Valve

what is the light sensing output like?
What is that light sensing component?
what is the voltage level of the sensing circuit?

These answers are required to decide upon the right circuitry for you to do that job. Yes, mostly it will be with relays and its drivers.

Re: Solenoid Valve

I was told to use LDRs and LEDs. Am I in the right direction?

The plan is once the LDR senses the light from the LED the solenoid valve will be activated. Im not really sure about the outputs yet because I'm still trying to figure it out.

Thanks
