Hello,

I know that you send digital signals using ASK, FSK, PSK modulation. I was wondering though if it was possible to send that same digital signal using FM or AM modulation?

If not, I was wondering if anybody knew of any popular ASK or FSK modulation IC's?

Thanks!

So essentially, FSK is just FM modulation? Why is there such a thing as FSK then? Why not just call it all FM modulation?

Besides plain binary FSK, you have also other FM methods, e.g. GFSK (gaussian shaped FSK).

GFSK is used in DECT phones that is simply FM.
The only difference is that the digital signal is filtered before it modulated to limit spectrum and reduce the spurs and "spectrum regrowths"
