avr pwm dac

Can I use 16bit timer in PWM mode (AVR timer 1) as slow 16bit DAC?how?

does it have linearity and precision of 16bit DACs,speed of DAC is not important(10SPS is OK)

avr timer1

Linearity is typically better than standard DAC, based on the inherent linearity of a single bit DA, if the analog circuit is designed suitably. A 2nd or 3rd order low-pass filter is required to suppress the PWM frequency ripple.

Hi

There is a nice artical on EDN site on using PWM as a DAC by Boni Beaker

All the best
