eagle drill size

I am designing a board using EAGLE. I have included a component I created myself with 0.005 inch drills in 0.024 inch pads. The drills were small because I previously did the drilling myself and did not care about the drill size given in the software.

I wish to increase the size of the drills to 0.017 inch. If I open the library and make this change to the package then the pad size also increases, although this is not clear in the package view, only once I try to add the package to the device.

How can I change the drill size independently of the pad size? Thanks!

eagle change drill size

By default the diameter of a via is set automatically and depends on the drill size.
You can simply change that by clicking Change --> Diameter --> value
