calculate turns ratio

Hi,

I want to understand the complete details about Isolation Transformer (with diagramatic explanation).

If a transformer takes 11.8V input and outputs 1.8v , then what is the turnsratio?

If a transformer takes 11.8v,90v,26v inputs and gives maximum 2V output.tHEN HOW TO CALCULATE THE TURNS RATIO? nO OTHER INFORMATION IS PROVIDED.
with thanks in advance,
kbmani

calculate transformer turns ratio

kbmanick,
If you ignore transformer losses (IR, hysteresis, eddy current), then the turns ratio is the same as the voltage ratio. In you first example, (11.8V:1.8) the turns ratio would be 11.8/1.8 = 6.56. The truns ratio is also equal to the square root of the impedance ratio.

Kral
