PCI signal length...

Is there a limit when extending PCI signals from a onboard connector to the card?

Experiencing certain system freezes after the system runs for a few minutes...

Re: PCI signal length...

In PCI, clock signal must be 2500 mils exactly, others nets must be less than 1500 mils, see it in the PCI specifications 2.1

Re: PCI signal length...

So actually it is not possible to extend signal length from a PCI connector to a PCI card...

Problem is that the PCI can´t be mounted directly since the PCI socket is a X-PCI from a Vortex86 CPU...

So I have to wire it instead to the connector...

Re: PCI signal length...

You can extend it, depending on how long the traces are on the PWB. You're most likely experiencing signal integrity issues due to 'wiring' it. It's generally not a good idea to do that.

Re: PCI signal length...

As PCI works on Reflective-Wave switching theory, it is very important to maintain the trace length according to spec. You may certainly face Signal Integrity problems if you are wiring up.
