Hi all,
I have the following question.
Can an antenna diversity (transmit, receive beamforming etc.) scheme over Rayleigh fading channel yield a better performance than the one over AWGN channel? As performance criteria, you can assume error rate or data rate.

As far as I know, when the antenna diversity level goes to infinity, the error performance of the scheme over Rayleigh fading channel goes to the same performance as the one has over AWGN channel. Is this correct? If yes, is the same thing applicable when capacity (data rate) considered?

Thanks.
