Hello,
i am working on lossless data compression architecture using vhdl/verilog.
I want to read some standard .txt and .exe files . can some one tell me where i can find related material for it.
Thanks

Yntax for VHDL textio can be found in simulation tool (e. g. ModelSim docs) or in VHDL specification. Usage of binary files is generally not advisable because they would be highly implementation dependant. I also can' say, which tool would support binary files. I don't see, what particularly *.exe files should mean in this respect? They contain executable code rather than any data that may be understandable to testbench code, I think.
