usb 5v 2a

Please can you tell me, how can I drive 5v,2A from USB port.

I wont wants to use external adaptors in my system, running on USB. So I am trying to drive whole power from USB.

Please if possible try to send me details, schematic as early as possible.

Thaks in anticipation...........

Hi,
Not possible, you need separate power supply for your device interface. USB port can supply only 5V at 500mA for all ports connected to a hub.

usb port 5v

actually this is nt possible at all.
you must use external source for required current.

current amplifier should nt use bacoz it may hamper ur port. becoz 2 amp is quite a large amount current in dc circuit;infact u might nt able to do this.

use relay with xternal supply or u can use the power supply of ur pc.

Not only it is not possible, but also it is harmful! I had bad experinces of destroying motherboard IO chip during similar job,
be careful

2A, you got to kidding me. 500mA already a huge current.

The rated power from USB port is 5V*0.5A = 2.5W ; What you want is 5V*2A = 10 W.

You must obey the energy conservation law. You extract too much current from it, you burn the USB port.

any have a schematic for 220V to 5V 1A supply using simple smps?

diodes use for 5v,2a

You could use a transformer to get AC 6~10V,and then rectify it with diodes and RC circuits.

PLs refer to a primary electronic book.

Can't you just connect 4 USB in parallel together to get 2A? I see some hard disk using 2 USB in a cable presumably for power.
