Hi,

Can you tell me the difference between Track & Latch based and Sense-Amplifier Based Comparators?
I think, a track&latch comparator consists of a preamplifier that amplifies the input difference to make the latch time constant lower and is suitable for high speed applications. But a preamplifier has the disadvantage of consumpting power permanently.
A sense-amplifier based comparator like the lewis gray comparator has no dc power dissipation.

Can you agree?

Thanks
