Hi, ive seen a similar post but didn't want to hijack it so here goes.

im looking at buying a PICkit2 from microchip to programme a 16f84a, now i will be using (or so i think) my laptop to write the programme in MPLAB but my only concern is im running windows vista!!!!! does anyone know if this will work because im looking at buying it soon as rs have it for £25 or so, plz help!!! thankyou

The OS support info is really hard to find on Microchip web. I would recommend try install the MPLAB (now Ver.8.0) first, see if MPLAB is supported by your VISTA.

If it is not, probably wait a while until new version released.

Also recommend do a search on the Microchip forum:
