p channel fet

I know not about FET so I need help please:

What parameters to see in FET to find if they are equivalent (for example, teacher told me more expensive 2N4416A and very cheap BFW11 equivalent, but I do not understand why)

I am learning in first semester college and so asking stupid questions, so sorry if I hurt you, but I will be greatful for answers that help me. Thank you.

Any logic level PMOSFET with less than 5 or 10 ohm rdson should work. 2301 is a common part, also available from Vishay, so I don't understand, why you can't get it.

bs250 equivalent

Thank you for answer. Is that only criteria for selection of FET? How you see that please tell me so I can learn too?

I search lot of shops for 2301 but Taiwan model not found, say not import from Taiwan.

How I find alternate model for 2301?

Also lots BF, 2N series usually available at my college.

Added after 4 hours 13 minutes:

Question one more.

Why use TSM2301 instead of BS170 as used in other MOSFET in same circuit?

Please explain little.

replacement of bs170 transistor

You have to use an enhancement P MOSFFET. The other FETs you are mentioning are depletion P JFET and thus don't work. BS170 is a N MOSFET.

Vishay Si2301, a replacement for TSM2301, is available word-wide and in stock at many catalog distributors.

A lot of other transistors can be used instead of the 2301, e.g. a PNP BJT with a base resistor. But I don't want to redesign the circuit.

jfet p-channel works

Hi,

Cannot say anything against the USBPICPROG - but do wonder why you do not build a more conventional Pickit2 clone ?

As well as being 100% compatible with MPlab IDE etc the extra tools like Usart and Logic Analyser are all there.

There is loads on the forums about the clones - here is a popular one using cheap, common parts - it does work.

FvM, I ask how to find similar enhancement P channel FET - what characteristics to look for. You help me and say 5 or 10 ohm rdson work but I not understand why. I tell shopkepper give me logic level FET and tell about TSM2301. He tell me, TSM2301 not logic level FET and to come back after learning more, so I ask you again.

wp100, I not know about this. I will read and see. Thank you, I press button for help too.

I am thinking why so many pickit2 with different price?

You have a fair chance to get a more profound answer to your question when asking any guy on the street. At least, you can assume more politeness.

Actually, logic level FET isn't a clear technical term. It's designating MOSFETs with low threshold voltage that achieve full on state with a 3 or 5 V gate-source voltage. This is the case e.g. with 2301, although the manufacturer doesn't use the term "logic-level".

You can go the opposite way and check, which PMOSFETs in a small package are available at your famouse electronics shop, hopefully the qualified staff is able to answer such trivial questions. I guess, that each of them could be used in the said circuit, but you may want to post the types here.

mosfet equivalent to bc557

hi,

I am thinking why so many pickit2 with different price?

Yes there are lots of 'Pickits' out there.

Microchip market several variants - there are two versions which seem to be better value, dependant on your needs.
You can buy just the Pickit2 programmer alone or with the Debugger Kit which comes with a small micro circuit board to learn with.

There are also many third party clones either ready made or in kits.

Then you come to diy self builds which are again full or cut down clones of the Microchip unit - the pic shows the simple cut down one I built - very similar to the plan I sent.
The only catch with the diy ones is that you have to program its pic chip up in the first place.

Just search this forum for more details as they are popular subjects.

I not angry on people at all, as no learn of angry and I want to learn because you can see I know nothing.

People like you help me learn more so I know I am right not being angry.

Like I learn about Junebug.

Will Junebug also be able to talk with MPLAB so I can do ICSP at runtime - program and run without disconnect Junebug from circuit?

bs170 p-channel equivalent

BS250 has a maximum rdson of 25 ohm (typical 11) with 4.5 Vgs, which is a bit high, but may still work. I think, that a BC557 with a 1K base series resistor can be a better replacement.

how do p-channel mosfet work

FvM, you very nice and always answer my question.

I reading lot datasheet after you guide me, and see that BS250 almost match except Rds(on) which almost 10 times and that make me very sad.

But I feel it is for switching and ask didi also why not use BJT in change for FET, and he say P channel best for switching.

So I also wondering why you think like me?

Also what change I need to do in circuit if I change the FET with BC557?
