thermal printer control card......

dear friends ,

I would like to make the control card for thermal printer head from fujitsu ( ftp-628mcl101/103).
I have seen the controller card uses renesas rf2127 series controller .

I want to know how to interface the printer head .any prior experience is welcome .do we have to implement the font table in controller or is it embedded in printer mechanism only.please let me know the basic overview how does it work .

hi
ftp-628mcl101/103 is a thermal printer head with 384 dots/line structure .
interface the printer head is RS232C or centronics interface (LPT)
this head no have any eeprom or memory . for print any font or picture you need send location of any dot of that , for example see A character

this head support 8x8 dots with 0.125 mm space .
