Hi,

I'm designing a RFID reader based on the HTRC110 basestation IC and am having intermittant writing issues. Some Hitag2 transponders can't even be read at all so I'm thinking that the RF field is too weak to supply the required power to the transponders.

How would I go about increasing the power of my field? The voltage is fixed from the drivers so I'd guess I'd need to change the resistance but this affects my Q value.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Hi, just check with Hitag2 transponders. Are they readable by standard readers? or its problem with your reader system only. The try changing the value of R either just to know where this problem get fixed. Then finally go for optimization. dont think for optimization in the begining. Good Luck!

Cheers Techi, yes the transponders can be read with other readers. I found on other (non-Hitag2) transponders I could read fine but couldn't write which what lead me down the idea of a weak field.

My concern was that it would cause a Q value that wasn't compatible with the transponder but as you point out the optimisation can be dealt with later.

Thanks again,
