How to test the optocoupler MOC7811 ??

Hii ..

I'm using the optocoupler MOC7811 for my project . But i dont know how to check it whether it's working or not ... Can anyone help me getting its circuit .... Also, please tell me thw working of this optocoupler ....

slotted couplers can be checked crude methode
apply 5 volts DC at transmitter anode pin 3 through a 220 ohm resistor.
and -ve to pin 1.
connect analog meter at reciever side keeping it to 1x ohm position and meter -ve prob at pin 2 and +ve probe at pin 4
of coupler. meter needle will move towads zero.
as you disconnect meter will show infinity.

if you want to test its speed you have to go for its funtional test.
 
You can use your DMM diode test feature for both elements as you would for a diode and transistor junction.

how we wanna know whether the moc7811 have interrupt in it

if we give power supply to moc7811, thus moc7811 will glow like an led or not?
