Hi, i am working on eagle cad and i need to place a SMD inductor but i can't find any kind of information about the package other than the lenght of it in all directions. Is there any general group of packages for SMD inductors (like A, B, C... for Tantalum) or no? I am going to need to create my own footprint? Any lib for eagle with many inductors packages?

Thank you!

Search for and download the free IPC7351 viewer (now on the Mentor website) and this will enable you to enter the component dimensions.

Then it will give you all the dimensions needed to create the footprint yourself in whatever CAD package you use.

Use the rcl.lbr from Eagle. Inside you´ll find a folder named L-US with lots of inductor packages. Inductors come in many different packages ranging from the popular 0805, 0603, 1206,etc to A (=3216), B (=3528 ), etc and many other types. Please refer to the datasheet of your specific component to find the package that better fills in.
Best regards

IPC7351 viewer is not being a good help becouse the datasheet itself does not give much infromation about the inductors sizes.Take a look at these 2 dataheet and see if can get any kind of useful information of it:

Thank you!

Inside the rcl.lbr find the folder L-US and select the package L-USWE-TPC. It seems to fit the CDRH5D18 specs.

Yoe are correct, the IPC viewer is not going to be much help.

Because you do not need it - the pad dimensions are on the datasheet.

What about them is stopping you making a footprint?

Thank you.. i am going to take a look on that. OFFTOPIC: Where are you from Brazil.. its rare to find more pople from brazil here ate EDA.

Al the times i tryed to make the pad myself i did not have a good result. Well i am going to try it again. But i could not identify wht is the PAD at CR54 datasheet.
