i got 1 prob , i couldnt find that mc in market ,,only intel's 80c51cka was available,,i got that,,so do u think that the circuit diagram for the programing kit of both the mc will be same..
i mean the resistances and the capacitance value..
i hav posted the ckt diagram for 89v51rd2..
will it be same for 80c51cka
Definitely you can give the same capacitors and resistances. You can replace the IC instead of 89V51 and verify the pin diagram.. . It is important. OK...

one thing more..i hav a laptop and there is no serial port there..can u tell me the parallel port connection or usb for the kit
Yah, Laptop has no serial ports. You can use USB to serial converters and are available for cheap price. You can use that instead of parallel. It is much suitalbe for you....

Now for your problem, You just take the output from the parallel port and give directly to MAX 232 input. The the output of MAX 232 to the Micro. Thats all......
I think you are having the pin diagram of Max 232.
