CST Residual

Hello,

How do you interpret the Residual in CST? I understand that it is a measure of whether your simulation converges or not, but what am I looking for?

My sim starts with Residual of 1, then at step 140, it shows 0.63, never really gets past 0.5.

What does this mean?

Thanks

Sam

CST Residual

Hello Sam,

The residuals shows how much energy still left in the system. you can set the threshold for this energy. The better option is to use adaptive meshing and increasing the numbers of adaptation.
