Hi

I have an old laptop and I need to upgrade the RAM, It runs on 400 MHz, can I use a 800 or 533 MHz DDR2 RAM or would make a problem.
theoretically we can cause the lower speed will dominate but I want someone opinion

If u'll keep the 400 MT/s RAM, then the speed of the new RAM will be downgraded to 400 MT/s instead of its rated speed.

If you won't keep ur old RAM, then the new will work with the maximum supported memory speed by ur laptop.
