sim300 not responding

Hi,
I have connected sim300 with LPC148 UART1. I have connected 2 configurations.

Config 1:
Sim300--------> LPC2148
DBG_TXD ----->UART1 RXD
DBG_RXD ----->UART1 TXD
GND ------------> GND

Baud rate 9600.

Config 2:
Sim300--------> LPC2148
TXD ----->UART1 RXD
RXD ----->UART1 TXD
GND ------------> GND
DTR ----------> GND
RTS-CTS short
Baud rate: 9600

None of these configuration is responding. Am I missing something?

Does anybody have any successful configuration / setup for sim300 so that I can try to make sure the sim300 works.

Thanks in advance.

according to the datasheet, DTR is pulled to Vext with 100K and RTS short to ground if you decide to use only TXD and RXD to communicate

sim300 not communicate proper

Hi.
Thanks a lot for your reply. Everything was alright and I did make a silly mistake. Guess what!?!

I missed the pwr_key control part and directly connect that to on/off type switching :( Now I follow the pwr_key pulse type switching (from datasheet) and it works fine :)

Hi,
You must have solved your problem by now.

And you know sim300 is not turned on directly by power up. You will have to send Low pulse to the PWRKEY to turn it on.
