lead span

hi,
while naming any footprint according the IPC-7351 they have mentioned lead SPAN

how to calculate this value?

what is meant by lead span

The lead span is defined as the distance between the outer edge of the pins on one side and the outer edge of the pins on the opposite side (the same way you would measure a bird's wing span).

On the image below, the lead span is represented by letters V and S.
